General Gymnastics Competition Program

Description

General Gymnastics is a little less demanding than Artistic Gymnastics, however, It can be just as challenging. Floor and vault require high-level strength, power, speed, flexibility, endurance, agility, form, technical precision and artistic performance. Flying Angels Gymnastics Club's General gymnastics Competitive Program is for the type of gymnasts who is not yet ready for Artistic Gymnastics, or prefer to participate on two apparatus. The gymnast is able to maintain a focus on the development of excellence in an environment where athlete safety, health and wellness are our first priority. In their personal pursuit of excellence, each athlete benefits from ongoing personal and physical development that transfers well to their academic life, social development and performance in other athletic programs.

Our General Gymnastics classes are selection only. Cherub groups training sessions start from 1 hour a week. Both boys and girls train on floor & vault. Entry into and maintenance within these programs are not for everyone and are by trial only.

Flying Angels Gymnastics Club’s General Gymnastics program focuses on Floor & Vault:

  • FLOOR is an excellent example of where sport meets art. Each gymnast executes precise strength and balance requirements mixed with technically demanding tumbling elements.

  • VAULT requires speed and strength down the runway, generating sufficient momentum to produce a high and long post-flight off the vault that is essential for completing the various skills. Once in the air, the gymnast then focuses on sticking a perfect landing.

The Flying Angels Gymnastics Club Cherubs Competitive Program features a fantastic professional team of General Gymnastics coaches. The program structure includes Transitional, Beginner, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced competitive program, with gymnasts placed in specific competitive levels. Gymnasts will get to compete in Regional and home competitions. With the opportunity of not only competitions as an individual but as a selected team in our InHouse competitions. Flying Angels Gymnastics Club has competitive program trials throughout each year. General Gymnastics Competitive gymnasts are also given the opportunity to trial for the Artistic Program throughout the each year. Please contact the club for further information.
